In our continuing efforts to improve our baseball & softball programs, the directors of the Kearsarge Mountain league have agreed to the following guidelines for the 2008 All-Star Selection process.

Coaches Selection:  Potential coaches for each team will be identified the week following the coaches meeting at the beginning of the season. Each town director will contact their eligible coaches and inform them of what will be expected of them and also verify that they will be able to commit to the tournament trail. The town directors will review the list of potential coaches and identify the best and brightest candidates. The eligible coaches will attend all tryout sessions and a coaching staff will be in place by tryouts end.   An effort to have representation from all towns in the coaching staff will be made.

Players Process:  Players MUST attend at least one out of the two tryouts and produce an ORIGINAL birth certificate to be eligible for team selection.  Any exceptions to the must attend rule will be reviewed by the entire board and eligibility will be voted on by the town directors.

League’s Responsibility:  There shall be an All-Star Coordinator (2008 – Mark Campbell). He/she shall be responsible for ordering uniforms, getting all required documents to the managers to complete, to notify the managers of important dates and game schedules.  A town director will oversee each try out session to guide the coaching staff in its efforts to choose the best and the brightest team possible

Process:  The directors and coaches will all use a uniform evaluation form to evaluate the players trying out.  This form will be turned over to the league when the process is completed.

The managers of each team will submit their team rosters to the all-star coordinator by Monday June 2nd.   This list will have the players name, date of birth (as already confirmed by their original birth certificate), address, phone number and shirt size.

Notification:  The director in charge of each session will inform all town directors of the players chosen after the final tryout on May 26th and the coaching staff WILL NOT notify any players until Friday June 6th. The directors in charge of each session and the team manager will make sure that every child that came to the try outs is notified whether they were chosen or not. Notification can be made by phone call, email or posting on the League website.

Thereafter:  The teams will begin Sunday practices after tryouts and will add more practices when it is feasible for all players to attend.  All managers, coaches and players will need to pay $25.00 for their uniform shirts prior to receiving them. The players will keep their customized shirts and hats/visors, but are responsible for supplying solid blue socks and gray pants with blue belts for boys and solid blue socks and gray shorts for girls.
